William Lhota, a highly respected business leader in Central Ohio for decades, has died after a battle with cancer.
Lhota died on Thursday, according to the Central Ohio Transit Authority, which Lhota led for more than seven years after a long career with American Electric Power Company Inc. He was 77.
Lhota was brought on as COTA's CEO in September 2004 when the transit agency was dealing with falling ridership, troubled finances and an ethics scandal.
